Queer is the overarching term for sexual and gender minorities (not heterosexual and gender binary).

Look to break it down to the short version, doctor who (I presume you are talking about the purported decline in quality under moffat) isn’t looking to be the best thing ever on tv omg ~so quality~
It is supposed to be fun, and a bit clever, and a bit of a laugh. I’ve always watched it with my dad as one of our bonding things and I think his attitude is much stronger in me than the fandom attitude, which is that there is no such thing as a bad episode. Some are a stretch, some are a bit hilarious in terms of quality, a bit out there, but that you should never take it to seriously. It’s a legendary show because it doesn’t take itself too seriously, and if you want to criticise me for that remember that I love every part of the show as a result.
I have found, in my time in fandoms, that when you really enjoy shows but don’t take them too seriously you will always love them. Even Doctor Who. Even under Moffat.
What DW means to me isn’t the highest quality of script writing and cinematography, but instead something hilarious, fun and thoughtful that I love to do with my Dad.
